High Street Two Way Traffic Lights

The temporary lights on High Street are for STW to rebuild a Fire Hydrant Chamber on behalf of the Fire Service.

LCC has requested manual control of the lights between the hours of 07:00 and 09:00 and 15:00 till 18:30 to help with traffic flows at peak times.

They are scheduled to be there from today till 22nd November 2024.

TTRO Melton Road and Warner Street

A temporary road closure is required on Melton Road from 25th November 2024 for 3 days.

The road will be closed from its junction with South Street for 10 metres.

The one-way system on Melton Road, between Warner Street and Shooting Close Lane, will be suspended to allow access to Shooting Close Lane.

Poppy Walk

Around the village on certain streets are lists of the names and addresses of those soldiers from the village who died in WW1 and WW2.

The Poppy Walk Leaflets showing the streets where the lists are located are available at Barrow Library on North Steet, Freckles on High Street and Taylor's Florist on High Street.

Remembrance Sunday Service and Parade

Everyone is welcome to attend the

Remembrance Sunday Parade

at 10am in Holy Trinity Church

on10th November 2024

followed by a parade to the War Memorial and two-minutes silence and wreath laying.

A rolling road closure will be in operation throughout the morning.

TTRO on South Street

A temporary road closure is required on South Street from 3rd October 2024 till 18th October 2024.

The road is closed in a one-way direction only, between Jerusalem Island roundabout and Melton Road, access maintained from Melton Road towards Jerusalem roundabout.

The TTRO is implemented for public safety to allow National Grid Electricity Distribution to locate and repair an LV fault.

A temporary one-way closure is required on High Street on 26th October for 1 night, 22.00 till 06.00.

The road will be closed between Jerusalem Island roundabout and the railway bridge, in bound only, access maintained out bound towards Jerusalem roundabout.
